Frustrated Cristiano Ronaldo elbows opponent, then looks to punch referee, video gone viral

Xtra Time Web Desk: Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off for elbowing an opponent during a match for Al-Nassr. This action prompted the referee to issue a straight red card to him. Despite his frustration with the referee’s decision, Ronaldo considered punching the official but ultimately refrained from doing so.The result of the match went in Al-Hilal’s favour, with with Al-Nassr crashing out of the Saudi Super Cup with a 1-2 defeat. For Al-Nassr, Sadio Mane was the only goal-scorer. 

Regarding Ronaldo’s behavior, Al-Hilal coach Jorge Jesus commented that Ronaldo, being one of the most important players globally and a role model for many, isn’t accustomed to losing. Jesus suggested that it’s natural for Ronaldo to lose his temper and emotional focus when facing defeat.

Jorge Jesus said, “He is one of the most important players in the world and is a role model for many, but in his career, he is not accustomed to losing, so it is natural for him to lose his temper when he loses, as well as to lose emotional and mental focus in matches in which he loses.”

It was the 12th time in his career that Ronaldo was given a red card in a match. So far in this campaign, Ronaldo has scored 36 goals for Al-Nassr and helped his teammates with 12 assists, in 37 matches.
