French Cup: Neymar strike helps Paris St Germain beat Saint Etienne to title, Mbappe seriously injured

XtraTime Web Desk: A strike from Neymar in the 14th minute helped Paris St Germain beat Saint Etienne to lift the French Cup title at Stade de France on Saturday night. It was the first competitive match to be played in the country after a four month break due to coronovirus pandemic.

There was huge drama as Kylian Mbappe suffered a serious ankle injury following a horror tackle by Etinne defender and Captain Loic Perrin in the 26th minute. The incident led to a mass brawl between players of both teams following which Perrin was sent off.

Mbappe was seen limping out of the stadium on crutches during the second half, putting a huge question mark of his participation for the French side in Champions League quarter final against Atalanta in August.

This was the second major title for Paris St Germain after being crowned the champions of Ligue 1.
