Jamal Musiala collapsed on the field during Bayern Munich’s friendly match against RB Leipzig. The incident occurred after he came on as a substitute. Musiala scored in the 81st minute, but moments later, he suddenly fell to the ground.
Medical staff from both teams immediately rushed to his aid and began providing first aid. After a short while, the Bayern Munich midfielder was able to get back on his feet and walk towards the dressing room on his own.
Bayern Munich have not yet revealed what caused the incident. The club has only confirmed that Musiala is fine, which comes as a relief. According to reports from several German media outlets, the temperature in Munich was above 30 degrees Celsius. It is possible that the heat caused Musiala to feel dizzy and collapse, although this has not been confirmed.
Naturally, concerns surrounding Musiala have increased, especially given his recent injury history. Last year, he suffered a serious injury during Bayern’s Club World Cup match against Paris Saint-Germain. He fractured his fibula and was sidelined for several months.
Musiala had only recently completed his rehabilitation and returned to Bayern’s group training. The latest incident has therefore raised fresh concerns. Until the exact reason behind his collapse is confirmed, questions over Musiala’s condition are likely to remain.
