Reports suggest that Chelsea have signed Rogers for a British record fee of 117 million pounds. Arsenal were in talks with Aston Villa but ultimately, weren't able to land a deal with the club.
Rogers, who can play both out wide and in advanced midfield, concludes his two-year contract with Aston Villa after playing an important role in the club's Europa League victory in May. The England international scored in Villa's 3-0 triumph over Freiburg in the final, giving the club its first major European championship since 1982.
He also got them a spot at the upcoming season's Champions League. Hence, this move is monumental for Chelsea.
The 23-year-old joined from Middlesbrough in 2024 and scored 31 goals in 125 Villa games. His strong efforts won him a senior England debut later that year.
Rogers extended his form to the international level, appearing in seven of England's eight World Cup games as the team finished third. He also had his most fruitful Premier League season last year, scoring 10 league goals.
