First three points of the season for Bengaluru FC as they beat Chennaiyin FC
XtraTime Web Desk - After a hard fought battle, Bengaluru FC managed to beat Chennaiyin FC 1-0 to register their maiden win of the season.
Throughout the 90 minutes, it was a very thrilling match. Both the teams created enormous opportunities but Bengaluru FC kept their cool and secured all three points. Chennaiyin's one of the main man, Anirudh Thapa had to be taken off early in the 16th minute because of an injury but Chennaiyin's attacking style didn't change. Both the goalkeepers were in superb form and denied all the shots. The first half ended 0-0, but anyone could have taken the lead with the quality of Football each team played.
In the second half, Bengaluru FC took the lead in the 56th minute. Clinton Silva won a penalty and Sunil Chhetri made no mistake from the spot-kick. With this goal, Sunil Chhetri scored his first goal of the season as well.
The game quickly changed gear after Bengaluru's goal. Chennaiyin FC created a lot of opportunities since then but somehow none of them wore their magic boot today. Chennaiyin FC got enormous opportunities, had 5 shots on target but Gurpreet Singh Sandhu denied all.
Chennaiyin FC was then denied a penalty in the dying minutes of the match that created a lot of controversies but nevertheless Bengaluru FC won the match 1-0 and secured their first win of the season.
Bengaluru now has 5 points from 3 games while Chennaiyin has 4 from 3.
