Xtra Time Web Desk: Crowd trouble marred FIFA 2022 World Cup Qualifiers between England and Hungary at the Wembley stadium as both sides played a 1-1 draw on Tuesday. Roland Sallai gave the visitors the lead in the 24th minute while John Stones equalized from a free-kick in the 37th minute.

The highlight of the match was the crowd trouble. There were tensions when a section of Hungarian fans booed as England players took the knee around kick-off.

“Officers entered the stand to arrest a spectator for a racially aggravated public order offence following comments made towards a steward,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

“As the officers made the arrest, minor disorder broke out involving other spectators.”

Police were seen wielding batons to hold back the visiting fans but the rest of the game passed off largely peacefully.

England dropped points in World Cup Qualifier at home for the first time since the draw against Ukraine in September 2012. Despite the draw Gareth Southgate’s side remained on top of Group I with games remaining against Albania and San Marino.
