FC Goa seals the semifinals spot after a hard fought draw against Hyderabad FC
XtraTime Web Desk - The fairytale finally came to an end for Hyderabad FC. After a 0-0 draw against FC Goa, they are out of the top four race.
On the other hand, FC Goa qualified for the semis and the party already had started in the stadium itself. Specially when many of their first team players left the squad during the season and the team was in a lot of trouble. Thus, making it to the semis will be a huge boost to them going forward.
Hyderabad gave their all in the field. Adil Khan and Dheeraj Singh wad brilliant and Dheeraj's save towards the end of the match absolutely saved FC Goa's season. After a slow and low first 70 minutes, FC Goa were in trouble towards the end.
Colaco failed to convert in the 85th minute and in the 94th minute, Ivan's block saved FC Goa big time and finally in the 96th minute Dheeraj Singh showed his class and saved FC Goa's season. Adil Khan's back header was going inside but Dheeraj jumped and saved marvelously to earn the semifinals spot for FC Goa.
With the draw, Goa qualified for the semifinals for the sixth time in seven seasons while Hyderabad came close and won hearts but they need to do more for the spot in the next season.
