EXCLUSIVE: This Thailand International can become ATK-Mohun Bagan’s new signing

Kolkata: The board of ATK Mohun Bagan on Friday decided to retain the iconic green and maroon jersey which has been synonymous with the 131-year-old legacy of the football club. The name of the club will be changed to ATK Mohun Bagan FC while the logo will have the iconic Mohun Bagan boat with addition of ‘ATK’ to it. A day after that the new team has started to think about the upcoming season as they are likely to sign Thailand National Team footballer Thitiphan Puangjan in Asian Football Quota. As per sources, ATK Mohun Bagan Head Coach, Antonio Lopez Habas has already talked with the board members of the new entity. If everything goes right Thitiphan can become a very good weapon for the defending champions.

Early in his career Thitiphan usually played right-back in Muangthong United. As he becomes a more mature footballer,  Thitiphan changed his position and now he plays as a central midfielder. A hardworking box-to-box player. He is known for his pace, work-rate and stamina, create attacking chances from midfield. He also possess good technical, as well as notable defensive attributes.

Thitiphan won the AFF U-19 Youth Championship with Thailand U19, and played in 2012 AFC U-19 Championship. In March 2013, he scored his first goal in the senior team against Lebanon scored two goals in the 2015 Asian Cup qualification. In December 2013, he represented Thailand U23 in the 2013 Southeast Asian Games. He won the 2015 Southeast Asian Games with Thailand U23. In 2016, Thitiphan was selected in Thailand U23 squad for 2016 AFC U-23 Championship in Qatar. Thitiphan has played 33 matches so far for Thailand National Team and has scored 6 goals.
