Exclusive: East Bengal obtains NOC, gets back sporting rights from Quess

Sabyasachi Bagchi: The ongoing drama between East Bengal club and Quess Corp over sporting rights of the football team and a formal termination of their joint venture has finally ended with the Kolkata based club obtaining the NOC and sporting rights from Quess on Friday, July 17,2020. All the relevant papers has been sent to East Bengal by Quess Corp. This will be a huge relief for the club officials who can look for getting a new investor and as well go ahead with club licensing formalities.

East Bengal has surrendered its 30% shares to Quess thereby fulfilling the termination clause. It means there will be contractual obligations whatsoever between QuessEastBengalFC and East Bengal.
It was reported by Xtra Time on Thursday (July 16, 2020) that Quess has accepted the ‘Termination of Agreement’ draft agreement sent by East Bengal. After reviewing the papers by its lawyers the Bangalore based company agreed to the terms and conditions and sent it back to East Bengal. The Kolkata based club signed and returned back the agreement to Quess office in Bangalore. Finally East Bengal obtained the NOC and Sporting Rights from Quess on Friday.
