Internet Desk: The amount earned by newly appointed India coach Ravi Shastri is bound to raise eyebrows. The former Team India Director is believed to earn a whopping Rs 7 crore , which will eclipse all the amounts so far earned by any India coaches. Anil Kumble, who unceremoniously decided not to extend his contract as coach earned Rs 6.25 crore per anum.

According to sources in the BCCI, Shastri will be given Rs 7 crore per anum. The former India cricketer will also be given a free hand to pick his support staff. Former India bowling coach Bharat Arun is Shastri’s choice in the post along with batting coach Sanjay Bangar. The support staffs are also believed to get a hike in their salary.

In fact Kumble did suggest the Board earlier about a hike in the pay-scale for the coach and support staffs. It is learnt that the support staffs will be handed a contract paper which will have certain do’s and don’ts. No member of the support staff will be allowed to get an IPL contract. Nor will the support staff can engage themselves in any commentary or can write columns.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Saturday formed a four-member panel, which includes acting Board President CK Khanna and CEO Rahul Johri, to decide on the remuneration of newly-appointed head coach Ravi Shastri and other members of the support staff.

CoA member Diana Edulji and BCCI acting Secretary Amitabh Choudhary are the other members of the Committee which will meet on July 19.
