Do You Know? Top Five Young Indian Talents in this year’s I-league

Kolkata: This I-league season has been enormous and phenomenon as it is yet to be decided who will be emerged champions for this season’s I-league. In the mean time, we have seen some growing talents this season those who can make a mark in Indian football in the upcoming days. Here are the following five young Indian talents:

Udanta Singh (Bengaluru FC):  Udanta Singh has been the most notable growing talent in this year’s I-league. The Bengaluru FC winger has been phenomenal under Ashley West wood coaching. Bengaluru FC have sent young winger Udanta Singh on a developmental training stint with English League Two side, Oxford United FC. Udanta scored his first I-league goal on 2 March 2016 against Shillong lajong FC, in a game where he was adjudged the man of the match. He has been regular in the Bengaluru side as the U-22 quota player and has been scoring goals almost regularly which earned him a place Indian national team for the FIFA World Cup qualifier tie against Iran and Turkmenistan.

Zodingliana Ralte (Shillong Lajong FC): The left-winger for Shillong Lajong FC has been promising for the highlanders. His accurate passes from the left flank has been trademark for Lajong FC. His passes helped Lajong striker Uilliams Souza scored the goals. His dribbling and shooting power are also to be noticed about.

Debjit Majumder (Mohun Bagan):  Debjit is really playing exceptionally well and has single-handedly helped Mohun Bagan in few games. This is just his 2nd year in a big club like Mohun Bagan and he definitely has a good future in front of him, provided he keep focused and keeps training hard. Debjit had his accountability in Mohun Bagan’s I-league winning success. Debjit needs slight improvement in saving the 2nd ball. His consistent performance helped him earn a place in the Indian National team after a long wait.

Bikash Jairu (East Bengal): After a successful last season with Salgaocar, Bikash Jairu signed for the Kolkata giants East Bengal this season. He was prominent and enormous from CFL and continued his good form in the I-league. Before sustaining an injury in his left hand, Bikash Jairu was regular in the Red and gold side scoring three goals in the eleven matches he played. He was devastating in the left flank supplying a lot of balls for Ranti Martins. East Bengal lost their way after Jairu got injured.

Alesh Sawant (Salgaocar): Alesh Sawant, who is Salgaocar’s U-22 quota player began poorly in the I-league but gradually got back to form after Santosh Kashyap took over the reign as Salgaocar coach and formed a good partnership with Jakichand Singh and Daryll Duffy. Sawant’s ability in the midfield with both legs is the most prominent to watch out for. If he is nourished well he is going to be a prospect in the future.
