Disney Star wins TV Rights while Reliance Viacom gets Digital Rights | IPL Media Rights

Xtra Time Web Desk: Disney Star has won the IPL TV Rights (Package A) for INR 23,575 crore while Viacom 18/Reliance has brought the Digital Rights for INR 20,500 crore respectively. It was speculated throughout the day that Sony has won the TV rights. The total price for TV + Digital stands at a whopping INR 44,075 crores for the 2023-27 cycle. The rights are for India.

BCCI will get INR 44,075 Crore ($5.64 BN) for both the packages. This means for the first time ever IPL will have two separate broadcasters.

Package C closed on Day 2 at Rs 18.5 crore per game. Total number of matches in Package C is 98. Bidding for Package C & D will continue on Tuesday. Three of the five territories have been sold in Package D.

IPL’s per match valuation currently stands at INR 107.50 crore, surpassing the English Premier League’s per match figure of INR 104 crore. The lucrative cash rich league is only behind USA’s NFL, which has a per match valuation of 133 crores per match.

Notably, the names of the bidders and winners will be revealed once the entire e-auction process is completed.
