DDCA Assures Kotla Will Be Ready By Sunday

New Delhi: The controversy ridden DDCA, which got last minute nod to host the World T20 matches at the Feroz Shah Kotla, has assured that the stadium will be fully ready by Sunday for the showpiece event.

“Preparations are on in full swing. There is no major challenge as such. The lighting and painting work is going on.”

DDCA working president Chetan Chauhan later added, ” We have received the NOC from the Delhi Government’s entertainment dept.for the sale of tickets.”

Kotla will host the four matches of the upcoming World T20 including the first semi-final besides the six games ofvthe simaltaneously held  Women’s World T20.

Earlier, in the week, the DDCA gotvthe permission to host the matches of World T20 under the supervision of Justice (Retd.) Mukul Mudgal, who was helped in solving the spot-fixing scandal.

Chetan also revealed that the no.of seats will be reduced to 39000 from 41000 but the sale of corporate boxes will take place as usual.
