XtraTime Web Desk: Social distancing is the need of the hour during COVID-19 pandemic. The world is slowly but surely getting accustomed to such practices. Recently Austrian club Salzburg footballers demonstrated social distancing while celebrating the Austrian Cup success amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Top European football leagues are already lined up for restart with Bundesliga leading the way. Football season in Austria resumed on Friday following the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Salzburg secured the Austrian Cup title following a thumping 5-0 victory over second-tier opponent Austria Lustenau in Klagenfurt. The match was staged in an empty Worthersee Stadion.

Hungarian sensation Dominik Szoboszlai gave Salzburg the lead in the 19th minute of the match. Dominik Stumberger’s own goal doubled the lead for Salzburg as they went in to the breather with a 2-0 lead. Noah Okafor, Majeed Ashimeru and Sekou Koita scored for Salzburg to give coach Jesse Marsch his first piece of silverware for the club.

Following the victory, Salzburg footballers maintained social distancing rules during the celebration with the trophy.

“It feels good to win this trophy,” said Salzburg coach Marsch.

“Our boys put so much in during the lockdown. I am very proud of them. We can enjoy this evening and the honour. Now we have the league, which we want to win too of course.”
