XtraTime Web Desk: Napoli will meet Juventus in the final of Coppa Italia to be played on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Napoli reached the final on a better aggregate 2-1 over Inter. The second semi final played between both teams on Saturday ended in a 1-1 draw.
The match will be remembered for Napoli striker Dries Mertens who on Saturday became the all time leading goal scorer for the club with 122 goals. The Belgian got past Marek Hamsik’s 121goals and all time legend Diego Maradona who scored 115 goals.

It was Inter Milan who took the lead in a rather unusual fashion. A Christian Eriksen corner with just two minutes played managed to find its way in at David Ospina’s near post, evading the head of Napoli’s No.22 Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

With a lead under their belt, Inter Milan footballers dominated the proceedings in the first half. Just as it looked Inter might go into the breather with a 1-0 lead, Napoli equalized through Dries Mertens in the 41st minute. Antonio Conte’s side had most of the ball possession as the second half wore on, but Napoli seemed happy defending.

The dying moments were played out on the edge of Napoli’s penalty area, but Gennaro Gattuso’s side did just enough to hold on and they’ll meet Juventus in Rome on Wednesday.
