Xtra Time Web Desk: A late strike from Casemiro (90+9’) saw Brazil defeat Colombia 2-1 in Copa America Group B clash at the Estadio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro. The Latin American giants maintained its all win record winning all their first three matches in the group so far.

It was Colombia who took the lead in the 10th minute with an absolute stunning goal from Luis Diaz. Despite having a large share of possession, Brazil failed to find the target. The score at half time read 1-0 in favour of Colombia.

Brazilian coach Tite brought Roberto Firmino in the second half and that added more flair in the attack. Neymar Jr came close to scoring the equalizer in the 66th minute as he had a clear goal after beating the Colombian goalkeeper but his flick hit the post.

Brazil finally managed to draw level in the 78th minute although somewhat controversially. The ball struck the referee and he seemed like he was going to blow the whistle but allowed the play to go on. The Colombian defence momentarily stopped assuming the game will be restarted. Neymar received the ball and he passed it to Lodi on the left flank who whipped a perfect cross to an unmarked Firmino who scored from the header.

The Colombians had a heated argument with the referee, who signaled for a review. Much to the surprise of everyone the goal was upheld by a VAR check. The game then started to boil over with fouls all across the pitch and multiple bookings and 10 minutes were added on.

Brazil finally scored the winner in the 99th minute of the match. A perfect corner from Neymar found an unmarked Casemiro who made no mistake to head the ball home.

The result saw Brazil maintain its position on top of Group B with nine points from three games.
