XtraTime Web Desk: World No.1 Indian test side is in front of a humiliating 4-1 series loss as they reached 58 for 3 on day 4 at the Oval in the fifth and final test. The home side will need just 7 wickets to register a convincing series victory over India.

Chasing a huge total of 464 runs to win India’s top order failed again as they lost three wickets in just two runs. Opener Shikhar Dhawan’s poor form in the series continued as he was sent back to the pavilion by James Anderson on just 1 run. Skipper Virat Kohli & Cheteshwar Pujara both didn’t trouble the hosts as they also got out on duck in their final innings of this England tour. At the end of day’s play Lokesh Rahul (46*) and Ajinkya Rahane (10) were at the crease when the play ended on day 4.

Earlier the hosts posted a mammoth of a total of 423 runs for 8 in their second innings thanks to two brilliant centuries by Alastair Cook (147) and skipper Joe Root (125). Cook becomes the fifth batsmen in cricket history to score a 100 on debut and last innings. Riggie Duff, Bill Ponsford, Greg Chappell and Mohammed Azharuddin were the other four. For India debutante Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja both took 3 wickets each. Among the pacers Mohammed Shami took 2 wickets.
