Kohli, on Independence Day shared an Instagram story showcasing his preparation at the gym. For a fitness freak like Virat, gym is the happy place for him. Sharing the video on Twitter, Kohli wrote “Chutti hai fir bhi bhaagna toh padega 😁🏃”

Kohli is India’s third-highest run-scorer in Asia Cup ODIs, having amassed 613 runs in 11 matches at a remarkable average of 61.3, including three centuries and a fifty, with his highest score being 183 against Pakistan. The former India captain rested for the last two ODI matches in the West Indies, will be keen to make a strong comeback in India’s Asia Cup opener against Pakistan.

Rohit Sharma holds the record for the most runs in the tournament for India, tallying 745 runs in 22 matches, while MS Dhoni follows with 648 runs in 19 games.

The upcoming Asia Cup 2023 tournament will adopt a hybrid model, with Pakistan hosting four matches and India’s games and a total of nine matches occurring in Sri Lanka.

India is placed in Group A alongside Pakistan and Nepal, with Group B featuring Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. The event will kick off with Pakistan facing Nepal, and India’s first match is against Pakistan on September 2, followed by a game against Nepal on September 4. Super Four stage matches will start on September 6, and the final is set for September 17 in Colombo.

Sri Lanka, the reigning champions, have secured six titles, while India remains the most successful team with seven titles.
