Xtra Time Web Desk: Mohammed Salah scored twice as Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 in Champions League Group B clash at Wanda Metropolitano on Tuesday. The win saw Jurgen Klopp’s side maintain a hundred percent record to stay on top of Group B with 9 points from 3 matches.

Liverpool were two goals ahead inside the first thirteen minutes. Mohammed Salah scored the first goal in the 8th minute to give the visitors the lead. Naby Keita crashed a superb volley home from a half-clearance to see the Premier League side extend the lead.

Atletico fought back brilliantly, though, with Griezmann justifying his selection ahead of Luis Suarez, who surprisingly began on the bench, with a quick double of his own.

The Frenchman scored from close range after a corner in 20th minute and then arrowed in his second in 34th minute from the edge of the box to draw level.

The home side suffered a huge setback after Griezmann was flashed a straight red card for a rough tackle on Roberto Firmino in the 52nd minute. Salah restored the visitors’ lead in the 78th minute from the penalty spot after a senseless foul from Mario Hermoso on Diogo Jota undid that good work.

It was the first time Diego Simeone’s side lost a European game in four years.
