Kolkata: Injury concerns for East Bengal ahead of facing Pathachakra in a crucial tie of CFL 2017 tomorrow. The Red & Gold Brigade’s star forward VP Suher, who has already scored 5 goals will miss the tie against Pathachakra as he has side strain. Gabriel Fernandez will replace the Keralian forward in the playing XI. Tanmoy Ghosh might replace Lalramchullova in tomorrow’s game.

On being asked about the condition of VP Suher, Khalid said,” We will see him again tomorrow, then a decision will be taken whether he will play or not.”

Arnab Mondal, Salam Ranjan Singh, Md. Rafique and Nikhil Poojari are returning to Kolkata in the evening today after the Macau game which India won with 2-0 margin. Khalid don’t want to take any decision without talking to them,” They are returning today late in the evening. I will talk to them after that, if we see they are not tired, they would be definitely in the squad,” said Khalid.

Pathachakra started the league brilliantly by beating Mohammedan Sporting Club in their opening encounter. But they failed to continue that momentum in their next matches. In their match against the Kolkata giant Mohun Bagan they faced a humiliating loss by 5-2.

Pathachakra coach Partha Sen said,” We failed to continue our momentum in the league. I don’t think the  Suher’s absence would give us an advantage. We will miss the service of Eric Brown as he received a red card during Peerless game. My team won’t play defensively as it won’t help any team to win a match. We will play our normal game and if we win the match that would be a great shock for The Red & Gold Brigade ahead of the derby but if my team somehow play a draw against them I will be happy too.”
