Can East Bengal participate in CFL without the nod of Quess? Here’s what IFA is saying

XtraTime Web Desk: East Bengal won’t face any problem regarding their participation in the Calcutta Football League confirmed IFA Secretary Joydeep Mukherjee. He said,”East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Mohammedan Sporting Club and ATK all are registered by these names in IFA. They played the respective leagues with these names last season.”

But if Quess doesn’t give East Bengal the rights to play football with the name? On being asked about the matter IFA Secretary added,”It’s their personal matter, and I don’t want to say anything about it. What I can say is in the last season all the letters that I wrote to them was in the name of East Bengal Club. The club is registered in IFA as East Bengal and I can’t change the rule, that can only be done by the AIFF Governing Body.”

Joydeep Mukherjee also added,”If we want to do something good for Bengal Football IFA needs big clubs beside them. We had East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Mohammedan Sporting earlier, and now ATK has joined them. I think now the big sponsors too will invest in Bengal Football after seeing these positive things.”
