Internet Desk: World record holder Olympian Usain Bolt raised controversy over schedule of Olympic track and field event after winning third consecutive 100m Gold. The sprinter complained the schedule as ‘ridiculous’ and ‘stupid’.

“I was tired going into the final, so I was just focusing on myself. It was such a quick turnaround”, Bolt complained.

On Sunday night Usain Bolt won his third 100m Gold after a hard turmoil. He ran the semifinal at 9:50pm. Then he ran the final at 10:25pm.

“It was very hard to run fast because the turnaround time was really, really, really short,” Bolt told a packed news conference in the wee hours of Monday morning. “It was ridiculous as far as I am concerned, because I felt so good in the semifinals.”

Bolt has his record of 9.58s in 100m. According to him running fast must equalize something like that speed. However, on Sunday he had his victory in 9.81 seconds over American Justin Gatlin (9.89) and Canadian Andre De Grasse (9.91 seconds).

“It’s the first time I’ve had to jog to the warmup area to get ready for the final,” Bolt said.

He also added, “It was like, ‘Yo, I probably could run a fast time,’ but by the time you get back to the warm-up area and start warming up again, it’s time to go back out. So for me, it was really stupid. … That is why the race is slow.”

Not only Bolt the Silver Medalist Justin Gatlin also had his complaint over the schedule.

“I was tired going into the final, so I was just focusing on myself. I was just like ‘let me focus on what I need to focus on,” he said “It was such a quick turnaround. We only had 30 minutes.”
