Bengaluru’s winless run ended as they beat SC East Bengal 2-0

XtraTime Web Desk – Bengaluru FC finally registered a win after 9 matches as they beat SC East Bengal 2-0 and maintained a clean sheet after 11 matches.

Nothing seemed to work for SC East Bengal in the match. They did start well though. Bright send a lovely ball to Harman in the 6th minute of the match but his shot went wide.

Cleiton Silva picked up a goal in the 12th minute of the match and put Bangalore ahead in a crucial match for them. Post that, the match was played in the midfield and Bengaluru had the upper hand for most part of the half. They picked up another goal in the 45th minute when Parag Srivas’ shot first hit the post and then it deflected off Debjit and Bengaluru picked their second goal.

Nothing was working for SC East Bengal in the middle. Whatever they were trying was quickly countered by Bengaluru. The blues created few more chances in the second half. One such chance was created by Sunil Chhetri in the 85th minute when his volley from outside the box hit the bar and he was denied from a fantastic goal.

The match ended as SC East Bengal failed to register one single shot on target. Bengaluru won the match pretty comfortably and moved up to sixth position in the table. They now have 18 points from 15 games while SC East Bengal have 13 points from 15 games and remained in the 10th position in the league.
