BCCI Secretary Jay Shah awarded Sports Business Leader of the Year Award 2023

Xtra Time Web Desk: In a remarkable year for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), marked by the successful hosting of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and the initiation of the Women’s Premier League, BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah, has been awarded the prestigious Sports Business Leader of the Year Award for 2023. This accolade represents a groundbreaking achievement, as it is the first time an individual from the Indian sports administration has been honoured with such recognition.

Under Jay Shah’s leadership, the BCCI demonstrated exceptional organizational prowess by executing the 2023 ODI World Cup, a globally anticipated cricketing event. Besides his role with the BCCI, Shah is also the president of the Asian Cricket Council that conducted the Asia Cup in the build-up to the world cup. Shah has earlier served as the joint secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) before joining BCCI.
