Xtra Time Web Desk: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly has hinted former India captain Rahul Dravid will take over the reins of Head Coach of Team India after Ravi Shastri’s tenure ends following the T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE. It will be on a temporary basis though as Dravid has already made it clear he is unwilling to take the role of the Head Coach of the senior team.

“I understand he’s not interested (in the job) on a permanent basis.… But we haven’t asked him about it specifically. We will see when we come to it,” Ganguly told The Telegraph.

It was being tipped that Dravid will take over as coach of the Indian team after Ravi Shastri’s tenure ends in November this year. But the former India cricketer has categorically said he would prefer working as the Head of National Cricket Academy (NCA). It is worth noting that BCCI had recently invited applications for the position of Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) after Dravid’s 2-year tenure ended. Despite being tipped as a successor to Shastri as Team India Head Coach, Dravid preferred not to take the role.
