Australian Open : Wawrinka Knocked Out In Fourth Round By Raonic

Melbourne : Former Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka has been knocked out of the tournament by Canadian Milas Raonic . Raonic defeated the Swiss 6-4 6-3 5-7 4-6 6-3 in the fourth round in a mammoth 5 set thriller. Raonic fought back in the match after losing the third and fourth set. Raonic will now face Gael Monfils who defeated unseeded Russian Andrey Kuznetsov 7-5 3-6 6-3 7-6 (7-4).

Two time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka defeated Barbaro Strycova 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the Quarter final. Azarenka will now face Angelique Kerber who get past fellow German Annika Beck  6-4,6-0 in a fourth round match.

British number one Andy Murray produced a clinical performance to defeat Australian Bernard Tomic in straight sets in the fourth round of the Australian Open. Murray beat Tomic 6-4, 6-4,7-6 to advance to the quarter finals.

Spaniard David Ferrer also has advanced to the quarter finals of Australian open. The eighth seed defeated tenth seed John Isner 6-4, 6-4, 7-5. Ferrer has not lost a set in this tournament so far. Ferrer will now face no 2 seed Andy Murray in the quarters.

In the women’s singles Briton Johanna Konta defeated Ekaterina makarova  4-6,6-4,8-6 to book a place in the last 8. Konta becomes the first British woman to reach grand slam last eight since 1984.
