Internet Desk: West Indies all rounder Andre Russell could face a suspension of upto 2 years for violating the “anti-doping whereabouts” code. Russell failed to appear for three drug test in the last 1 year.

According to anti-doping commission rules, athletes have to inform their whereabouts to local agencies in order to conduct the tests. . Failing to report for the dope tests is equivalent of testing positive in a dope test.

Russell is one of the key members of West Indies’s World T20 squad.Russell has played only a single test for West Indies. Russell has earlier plied his trades in various T20 leagues around the world. He has appeared for Kolkata Knight riders in the IPl and for Sydney Thunders in the Big Bash. West Indies team have been marred with various controversies including the recent contract dispute. With the likes of Sunil Narine and Kieron pollard not playing in the World T20 , Russell’s conviction could prove to be big blow to the West Indies team.
