Xtra Time Web Desk: In a surprising development, Shaji Prabhakaran has been sacked from his position as the Secretary of the All India Football Federation (AIFF). Prabhakaran’s departure comes after a relatively short time in office and signals a breakdown in trust and relations within the AIFF.

The AIFF officially announced Prabhakaran’s termination from his services due to breach of trust on Wednesday, stating that he would no longer hold the crucial position as of November 7th.

Prabhakaran had been appointed as the AIFF Secretary just over a year and two months ago in September. His appointment was initially met with optimism, with hopes for progress and development in Indian football under his leadership.

The AIFF Deputy Secretary, Mr M Satyanarayan, will take charge as Acting Secretary General of AIFF with immediate effect.
