Xtra Time Web Days: With days ahead of the Tokyo Olympics, the All India Chess Federation (AICF) has found itself embroiled in a mudslinging with the Jt Secretary Atanu Lahiri raising serious allegations against the Secretary of the Federation Bharat Singh Chauhan. In a fresh twist to their internal wrangling, Lahiri on Saturday sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging “data theft, corruption and misuse of funds” by secretary Bharat Singh Chauhan. The allegations along with the evidence was also be sent to the newly appointed Central Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.

According to Lahiri, the secretary of All India Chess Federation has sold the data of all the chess players’ of India through a secret agreement. Atanu Lahiri has also raised a question on corruption of money against Chauhan. He has also said that, the federation isn’t working for the needy players and also not co-operating the players whom they are supposed to serve.

Lahiri, the coach of national team of Chess of six different counties said that, the data of Chess players’ includes the data of the star players like Biswanathan Anand, Koneru Humpy, Suryashekhar Ganguly and many others. Lahiri hold a press conference at Press club on Saturday, multiple audio recordings of Chauhan were presented to the media as evidence of his involvement in anti-federation activities.
