Internet Desk: Mohun Bagan has travelled to Maldives to face Maziya Sports and Recreation club in a tentative do-or-die match. Maziya have been in tremendous form after losing only one game to table toppers Bengaluru FC.

The Kolkata side has tasted defeat at the hands of Maziya when the latter defeated Bagan 1-0 at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium.

Maziya would be without Kovacevic who is suspended.

Achieving glory in the AFC is now a distant hope for Bagan as only one team qualifies for the next round and they are six points behind leaders Bengaluru. It can be assumed that Bagan has lost hope for qualifying this tournament and as a result has rested many of their important players for the upcoming Fed Cup.

The team travelled to Maldives without Sanjoy Sen who has decided to stay back and prepare his team for Fed Cup. Asst. coach Shankarlal Bhattacharya will fill in the shoes of Sen in this match.

Shankarlal Bhattacharya has said the temperature there is 32 degrees which is relatively lesser compared to that of Kolkata.

The Bagan team has practiced in the main stadium for 45mins.

“We will try to turn around, and play for a win. Before the Fed Cup this is the only match that we have in our hands” said Bhattacharya.

Captain Katsumi Yusa and forward Jeje would be the only star players from the Kolkata side.
