Internet Desk: The ninth edition of the Indian Premier League is set to kick off on 9th April, 2016 at the Wankhede Stadium with the match between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and newcomers of this season Rising Pune Super Giants. A day prior to the opening match a grand opening ceremony is scheduled to be held at The Dome@ NSCI, SVP Stadium from 7:30p.m onwards.
The opening ceremony of the Vivo IPL promises to be grand one. The opening ceremony will see performances from eminent Bollywood personalities such as Jacqueline Fernandez, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Katrina Kaif and Ranveer Singh. The star attraction of the opening ceremony will be popular English pop band named TBC . The opening ceremony will also feauture performances from 200 dancers, performers, folk artists, and percussionists.
According to an official statement released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), “Ferriswheel is all set to put together a mad cricket party which will enliven the spirit of cricket. For the first time ever, India will see a 360 degree experience of seamless graphics and projection and state of the art technology- all in one show.” Ferriswheel Entertainment is a Mumbai-based event management company which has been given the privilege to organise the opening ceremony for this year’s Indian Premier League.
One of the members of the organising committee has also promised for a few more surprises which is in store. If the BCCI and the IPL organizing committee successfully implements what they have planned, then it is going to be an event to be remembered for a long time.
