Exclusive: Ranjit Bajaj backs Mohun Bagan, lashes out at The AIFF on Sukhdev Singh issue

Suman Chakravorty:
I-League champions Minerva Punjab FC owner Ranjit Bajaj once again slams The All India Football Federation for not allowing Sukhdev Singh to play for Mohun Bagan. There has been a huge rumour going on regarding Sukhdev that he won’t be able to play for Mohun Bagan till the next transfer window in January, but Mr Bajaj has denied such hoax and termed it as ‘nonsense.’.

In an interaction with www.xtratime.in, Bajaj said, “Mohun Bagan have paid us the transfer fee long back, we too have given them the No Objection Certificate(NOC), I don’t know what nonsense The AIFF has been doing, as they are prolonging the issue and not allowing him to play. The moment they will be sitting in the meeting, they shouldn’t have any problem to ”

Bajaj seemed furious on The AIFF officials, as he said, “All the rumours which are going on regarding Sukhdev are utter rubbish. It’s because of the AIFF officials of the Players’ Status Committee, who didn’t ‘get time’ to sit and discuss the matter in the last couple of months, the case is still hanging.”

Bajaj also confirmed, “It’s because of East Bengal’s stupid protest, The AIFF is still delaying the matter. On paper, he is officially a Mohun Bagan player and it’s a pity that he couldn’t play the Calcutta Football League despite having all the formalities done.”
