XtraTime Web Desk: Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr has a serious message for all the football lovers across the globe, as he feels that he will be completely fit ahead of the biggest footballing competition in the world.

The PSG striker appeared in a promotional event for the Chinese electronic brand TCL in Sao Paulo on Tuesday, walking in on crutches with a protective boot on his right foot.

The Brazilian superstar said he won’t be back playing at least until the second half of May, when he is scheduled to have his final medical exam following foot surgery.

Neymar broke his metatarsal in PSG’s 3-0 win over Marseille in February. He underwent an operation in Rio de Janeiro and has been recuperating in Brazil since.

He appeared in good spirits despite his injury, and seemed confident his rehab is on track to return him to action before this summer’s tournament in Russia.

Neymar said: ‘There isn’t an exact date yet. I have the last exam, if I’m not mistaken, on May 17. Then I’ll see, it depends on how things develop, it depends on my next exams. It has not been decided.

‘I hope I won’t watch the World Cup on TV! I will have enough time to prepare. It’s evolving well. I will arrive better than I was before.’
