Kolkata: A five member committee was formed by Mohun Bagan to discuss the recent issue of unprofessional attitude and partial behaviour of The Indian Football Association (WB) towards the club. The Executive Committee of the club met at a Central Kolkata club to discuss on the issue. The executive members also threatened to de-affiliate themselves from the Indian Football Association (IFA), West Bengal’s parent body of the sport, due to “partial behaviour” during the tie against arch-rivals East Bengal in the Calcutta Football League.
The club has appointed a five member core committee to “discuss and decide the future course of action, which may also include De-affiliation from The Indian Football Association (WB) and seeking affiliation from the any other State Association”.
The five members committee included club secretary Anjan Mitra, assistant secretary Srinjoy Bose, finance secretary Debasis Dutta, football secretary Satyajit Chatterjee and Swapan Banerjee. The committee will discuss and decide the future course of action, which may also include De-affiliation from The Indian Football Association (WB) and seeking affiliation from the any other State Association.It was also decided by the Executive Committee that Mrs.Sohini Mitra Chaubey has been elected unanimously as one of the Director of the company which is functioning to handle the football affairs.
Mohun Bagan secretary looked very angry with the IFA.” We are not happy with the decisions of IFA. Before the start of the Calcutta Football League, they created a master plan to put our team in trouble. We are clear on our point of view and the protest against the IFA will get stronger day by day,” said Mitra.
Bagan Assistant Secretary Srinjoy Bose said,” We have our own self respect, if they don’t treat us well then we will play from here.”
The Mariners will participate in the next edition of the coveted Durand Cup to be held at Kolkata.
