Kolkata: Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan’s newly signed foreigner Ansumana Kromah is all set to play the first match of Calcutta Football League 2017 against Southern Samity on August 14. He has practiced with the side today. Kromah couldn’t attend the practice for last two days due to his groin injury. After doing a full practice session with the team, he looked mentally ready ahead of the first match.
This is not the first time that Kromah will be playing the Kolkata League. He played for Peerless couple of seasons back, but this would be the first time that he will play for Green and Maroon Brigade. After getting this opportunity it would be a challenge for Kromah to prove himself as the club have only signed him for three months to play the Kolkata League. If he plays well in the in the league then Mohun Bagan would extend his contract for the I-League.
On the other hand Bagan’s star goal-keeper Shilton Paul and defender Abhishek Das didn’t practice with the side as they both have some injury problems but Bagan still has a few days left to play their first match and both of them would be fully fit before that point of time.
Meanwhile, Mohammedan Sporting Club’s first match in the upcoming 2017/18 Calcutta Premier Division – A against Pathachakra Club, which was scheduled to be played at Barasat Stadium on Sunday 13 August 2017 has been shifted to Kalyani Stadium due to security reasons.
