Xtra Time Web Desk: There are few Indian cricketers as popular as MS Dhoni. Chennai Super Kings captain continues to draw fans to the stadiums across the country despite quitting international cricket. On Sunday as he was taking a lap of honour at the Chepauk stadium after CSK’s final home game of the ongoing IPL 2023 season, legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar could not resist himself running towards him (Dhoni) with a pen to get him sign an autograph on his shirt.

“Who doesn’t love him. What he has done for Indian cricket is amazing. The most important thing for me is the role model he has been. The way he has handled himself has been fantastic,” gushed Sunny during the post-match conversation with Kevin Pietersen for the host broadcasters.

He added, “As soon as I heard that he is taking a lap, I borrowed a pen and ran towards him”.

There has been a lot of speculation about whether Dhoni is playing in his last IPL. While he himself has not confirmed it, but there are indications that he might hang up his boots after this season.

Dhoni was also seen hitting tennis balls into the stands while taking a lap of honor, acknowledging the unbelievable support and love from the home fans.
