CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan hopeful of Dhoni playing for another season despite taking a lap of honor at Chepauk

Xtra Time Web Desk: Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni was seen taking a lap of honour at Chepauk after the team’s final home game of the IPL 2023 season. Dhoni was quite emotional as he took a round of the stadium acknowledging the adorable home fans. He was seen hitting tennis balls into the stands with a racquet. But despite Dhoni’s emotional gesture, the franchise is hopeful that he will be back for next season.

In a video released after their seven-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan was seen confident that this wasn’t the end of the road for Dhoni.

“We believe MS Dhoni is going to play next season as well, so I hope fans will continue to support us like every time,” he said in a video in Tamil.

Chennai Super Kings are still not absolutely guaranteed a place in the Play Offs. Although they are second in the IPL points table with 15 points, they still need to win against Delhi Capitals on May 20 to seal a spot in PlayOffs. If CSK qualifies for the PlayOffs, they will be back at their den.
