Kolkata: Tollywood and Bollywood star Prambrata Chatterjee has stormed a new controversy as the actor was seen posing a photograph with one of his friends, showing the middle finger to a Mohun Bagan jersey. The moment the photo was uploaded on the social media, the Mohun Bagan fans started a hate campaign against him. The incident got worse and a bit too sentimental as the Kolkata Derby was yesterday and the Mohun Bagan fans were pumped after beating the arch rivals East Bengal.
Today. Parambrata was forced to clarify his activity on social media as he wrote, “There’s this hate campaign going against me since this afternoon on social media. It’s regarding me showing the middle finger against the jersey of Mohan Bagan AC. Well, let me clear the air here too as I have done it on twitter. And this goes out to all MohunBagan and East Bengal fans alike. To begin with, yes I’m anEast Bengal supporter, have always been so. But that doesn’t mean that I’m not aware or have no respect for the history an great legacy that MohunBagan bring to Indian football. I have great respect for the club and its relentless contribution towards football, my favorite sport over the last century. Moreover, I’m the kind of person who would never resort to extremism or would never cross lines of sportsmanship when it comes to sports. I believe in looking at cricket or football rivalries as funny sporty banters and don’t support the idea of letting it become becoming anything more serious. So THE QUESTION OF DISRESPECTING THE MOHUNBAGAN JERSEY DOESN’T ARISE. We were at a dinner party last night where a lot of the invited were MohunBagan supporters. Two.
