Tokyo Olympics: Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju unveils Indian team’s official jersey and ceremonial kits

Xtra Time Web Desk: With just 50 days to go for the Tokyo Games, India Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju and Indian Olympics Association President Narinder Batra on Thursday unveiled the official jerseys and ceremonial kit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a review meeting over the preparation of athletes for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said the PM has appealed to all to cheer for the athletes.

Indian Olympic Association President Narinder Batra said that over 100 athletes have already qualified for the Tokyo Olympics across eleven different sports. He said that the numbers is expected to rise up to 125-135 across 16-18 different sports. Around 190-200 people, including athletes and staff, will take part in the upcoming Tokyo Games.

Meanwhile the Sports Minister ensured that all the players should be vaccinated to protect themselves from COVID-19 that has ravaged Japan.
