Kolkata: Sport persons who need the best support from the whole country, did not at least received the broadcast from the largest arena of their sports. Athletes representing India in Rio Paralympics starting from tomorrow, will have no broadcast in India. Social welfare organisations of Kolkata and Delhi raised question over the lack of support fro the challenged sports persons.
In the era of social media there is hardly any advertisement for the physically challenged sports persons of India. Hardly any photo will come out of Indian sports persons who are going to attend Rio Paralympics. Normal life is difficult for which sports persons, they are not even getting any cheering from the Indian government too.
In previous Paralympics 10 sports persons joined the Games. One of them also won Silver. But nobody even know the name. It is also hard to find out a person who knows that the Paralympics is starting from tomorrow.
This time 19contingents are going to participate in Paralympics, among whom three are women participants. There is more hope of medals this time. Still neither the national broadcaster nor the private channels paid any interest to broadcast the part of the biggest show on earth.
