Rio 2016: India one step away from Men’s Hockey quarterfinals

Internet Desk: Indian men’s hockey team kept the hope of Medal alive by winning over Argentina. Today they beat Argentina by 2-1. However, last moment goal conceiving will keep Indian team in worries.

In their third match India won two games against Ireland and today against Argentina. They lost their second match against defending champions Germany by a narrow margin. They are now at the second position of the group with six points.

Today India took the early lead by the goal of Chinglensana at twelve minute of the match. They scored the second during the third quarter. At the beginning of the third quarter Kothajit scored to keep India in a safer position.

However, in the fourth quarter Argentina scored their lone goal through a penalty. The goal of the opponents was the outcome of their continuous hammering on India box. In the previous match also India conceived a last moment goal to lose the match.

India has to win the next match against Netherland who are just behind India. Otherwise it will be tough for them to qualify for the quarterfinals.
