Rio 2016: India conceived a last moment goal to lose against Germany in hockey

Internet Desk: Indian men’s hockey team suffered their first lose in their second match against defending champion Germany. In a heart breaking match they lost by 2-1.

Despite dominating the game for the most parts India were on the losing end of the second match of the Group B games with a 2-1 scoreline.

India conceived the first goal in the second quarter. However, challenging the first goal they scored in the same quarter. Rupinder Pal Singh scored the lone goal from Indian side. India earned only two penalty corners today. The only goal of India came from the penalty in 22minutes.

For the rest two quarters India had the most ball possession. Throughout the last two quarters India continued attacking on the German goal. But unfortunately they could not score. Along with that Indian defenders and goalkeeper cum skipper P R Shreejesh continued good playing.

However, they could not maintain the scoring line equal till the end of the match. With three seconds left for the match to complete Christopher Ruhr scored to give the defending champions a win.

After their win over Ireland in their first match all eyes were settled on the hockey team. This defeat may not demotivate the Indian fans as India played pretty well. Tomorrow they will be facing Argentina.
