Internet Desk:  For the second time an Indian is going to participate in women’s 100 m track and field event of the Olympics this year. Nearly one month before the games Dutee Chand promised to give a better show for the Indians at Rio.

The Odisha girl is aiming for a better finish to achieve a spot in the games starting from 5th August. According to her she use to give a good start on the track. However, she cannot finish the last part of her race. During the last days to go before the games she will work on her better finish.

The fastest Indian lady said, “I am too good in first 60 meters, but my speeds slows down in the last 40 meters dash. I agree. I have to improve on my speed endurance, and I am working on it.”

According to her coach N. Ramesh described as ‘Lioness’ of Indian athletics. Both the coach and the athlete confessed that Dutee did not face tough competition from Indian athletes which dragged her a little backward. This time she qualified for Olympics finishing 100m within 11.33 seconds. This is the new record for an Indian woman athlete.

Before leaving for Rio her coach said, “She is like a lioness. The good the competition, the better is her performance. She has been bettering her performance from the junior level till the international competition where she qualified for Rio Olympics”.

Whether she will win a medal at the Rio Olympics or not that is a million dollar question, but her heartiest effort to give a better show can inspire other athletes in Rio.
