Ranji Trophy: Bengal advance to the semis after an inspired performance

XtraTime Web Desk: Great news for the cricket fans in Bengal as, Bengal makes it to the semifinal after the match was called off due to bad light against Odisha at the DRIEMS ground in Cuttack on Monday.

After a disappointing start to the game, Anushtup Majumder’s game changing knock of 157, helped Bengal to post a decent total of 332 from a position of 46 for 5. The bowlers, especially the pace trio of Ishan Porel, Nilkantha Das and Mukesh Kumar too bowled exceedingly well to bowl Odisha all out at 250. All three pacers scalped three wickets each.

In reply, with a handsome lead of 82 runs, Bengal showed an even improved batting show and posted a great total of 373 to give Odisha a target of mammoth 456 on the last day.

In reply, when Odisha was at 39/0 after the first ten overs, the game was stopped due to bad light and never resumed after that.

The first innings lead helped Bengal to put their steps on the pedal of the Semi Finals.
