OMG: This was Ganguly’s statement on Smith,Warner’s absence for test series against India

Kolkata: Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly feels that the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner in the team will be a huge blow for Australia when they will face India in the Down Under from November 21.

“It will be a huge factor. You know it well what will happen if Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma aren’t there in the Indian team, the same thing has happened with Australia in the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner,” said Ganguly while talking to the media in Kolkata.

One of the most successful captains of all time of the nation is hopeful that India will do well of Aussie soil as it’s a golden opportunity for them to register their first test series win in Australia.

“It’s a great moment for this Indian team as it will be their best opportunity to beat Australia in Australia. India has a good side; they have a good bowling line up as well. We have seen that they have taken 20 wickets in most of the test matches in England and if they get good support from the batsmen in Australia then the hosts will be under tremendous pressure,” added Ganguly.

Ganguly though warned India not to take Australia lightly in the down under.”You have to understand that Australia in Australia and Australia outside their home is a whole different team. Many people can say that Australia is not that good like they were earlier but at home they are always a good team so India needs to play well there,” concluded Sourav.
