Xtra Time Web Desk: If everything goes well, the first Kolkata Derby of the 2023-24 season is scheduled to take place on August 12th, where East Bengal and Mohun Bagan will face each other in the Durand Cup group stage.

However, it seems that the Green-Maroon Brigade is unhappy with this date. It is being heard that Mohun Bagan Super Giant wants to play the Derby on August 11th instead.

According to the initial drafted schedule, the Derby was indeed set for August 11th in the Durand Cup. But later, it was changed to August 12th. Moreover, Mohun Bagan has a match in the AFC Cup preliminary round on August 16th. As a result, there will only be a three-day gap between the two matches for Juán Ferrando’s boys.

Considering the importance of the Durand Cup matches, Mohun Bagan intends to play the Derby on a date that is not just three days before their AFC Cup match. It is being heard that Mohun Bagan may request a change in the date.
