Internet Desk: Mohun Bagan is under immense pressure after losing consecutive two matches against Aizawl FC and East Bengal. The Green and Maroon brigade is considering the Shillong lajong FC match on Tuesday as a do or die encounter. Mohun Bagan coach, Sanjoy Sen quoted as saying,” We have to win the Lajong match any how amidst all the difficult conditions in the hills. The players themselves have created this difficult situation on their own and they are the best ones to get rid of it.” The situation is really difficult for Mohun Bagan as East Bengal and Bengaluru FC, the other two title contenders are not much behind the Green and Maroons in the points table. Although Mohun Bagan played a match more than Bengaluru FC and East Bengal but they are still leading the table with 25 points from 13 matches.
Mohun Bagan will be without the services of an official coach and assistant coach in the reserve bench as both Sanjoy Sen and Sankarlal Chakraborty are suspended. Sankarlal will be unavailable as he was shown the marching orders in Saturday’s derby. So, Mohun Bagan was quick to decide to fly former footballer and presently Mohun Bagan football secretary, Satyajit Chatterjee to Shillong but he will not be able to accompany the players in the reserve bench as his registration is undone. Regarding this issue, Sanjoy Sen said, “It won’t be a problem at all for players as our advice and information will be always there from behind the scenes.” Apart from Sony Norde, the rest of the squad is fit and ready to go. Jeje too is ready to look ahead, leaving behind the vital penalty which he missed in the derby. Cornell Glen too is concentrating in the Lajong match as it was his debut club in India leaving apart the racism controversy in the derby”, he added.
Mohun Bagan will be without the services of Sony Norde in this match too but Sanjoy Sen is confident that he will be available from the DSK Shivajians match and his MRI report to come soon. Sanjoy Sen signed off saying,” Sony Norde’s unavailability will be a factor but Mohun Bagan is not dependant only on Sony. We have to play and focus on our win.”Mohun Bagan faced off with Shillong Lajong FC in the first leg of the match at Barasat on 17th February, 2016 which was a 1-1 stalemate for both the sides.
