Kolkata: The controversially abandoned game between Mohun Bagan and Tollygunge Agragami will be “replayed” after 14 September at the Mohun Bagan ground. The Calcutta Football League sub-committee has declared the decision in a press conference today.

The match got abandoned after 3 controversial goals were disallowed by the assistant referee as fans and Mohun Bagan officials invaded into the pitch and protested the decisions of the match officials. The IFA Secretary Utpal Ganguly said,”According to the 8/C clause of the IFA, a match can be replayed if it is abandoned by the crowd invasion and is played on a neutral venue.”
On the other hand, Mohun Bagan have strictly made it clear that they will not play a single match before 14th September which includes the derby too. In all it seems derby is again under cloud. On this regard, Utpal Ganguly said, “We will not entertain to such matters until and unless we receive an official letter from Bagan officials regarding the same. We have made our decision and I will not comment any further.”
As per the IFA (WB) Constitution rule it is mentioned in Appendix – K point number 8 (c) which clearly stipulates quote “ In the event of a match not being played or being stopped after play has begun due to any reason whatsoever for which neither of the participating clubs has any control then and in such case the match shall be played for full time and another date to be fixed by the Secretary or otherwise dealt with by the CFL Sub-Committee as it may deem fit and proper under the circumstances.
Fall through matches and/or abandoned matches may be fixed at least within 7 days from the date of occurrence. Clubs shall have to play on consecutive days, if required.” unquote. In your letter you have missed to quote the rule which is marked here in bold. We have copied the exact extract of Appendix K point 8 (c) for your kind reference and perusal.
