WPL 2024 Mini Auction: All you need to know about the first ever mini-auction
Xtra Time Web Desk: The second edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction is scheduled to be held at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Mumbai on Saturday, December 9. This year’s mini-auction will see 165 cricketers going under the hammer. There are 30 slots to fill at the WPL 2024 mini auction. Out of the 165 players, 61 are overseas players while 15 are from associate nations.
West Indies’ Deandra Dottin and Ireland’s Kim Garth find themselves in the top bracket of the base price at Rs 50 Lakhs.
Gujarat Giants have the highest purse of Rs 5.95 crore. Having released 11 players, they have 10 slots to fill. Defending champions Mumbai Indians has the least purse INR 2.1 crore remaining. Harmanpreet Kaur-led side has retained the core of the winning squad, as they will only need to fill in five slots including an overseas spot.
Delhi Capitals has INR 2.25 crore purse left. Meg Lanning led side have only four slots to fill. UP Warriorz has INR 4 crore in the bank while Royal Challengers Bangalore have Rs 3.35 Cr in the purse.
The WPL 2024 mini-auction will be held in Mumbai on Saturday, December 9. The mini-auction is scheduled to start at 2:30 pm IST.
