Kidambi Srikanth enters the semi final of BWF World Championships to seal India’s first medal at the tournament

Xtra Time Web Desk : India’s Kidambi Srikanth entered the semi finals of the BWF World Championships 2021 on Friday after he defeated Netherlands’ Mark Caljouw in what was a one sided match.


The match which lasted for only 26 minutes was won by 12th seeded Indian by a comfortable margin of 21-8, 21-7. The Indian shuttler was in top touch from the start of the match and took a lead of 11-5 at the first mid-game interval. He eventually won the first game by a margin of 21-8. Although Caljouw tried to dig deep in the second game, but Kidambi continued his dominating performance to finish the at game 21-7 and confirm India’s first medal at the 2021 BWF World Championships as he entered the Semi Finals.


Also, this would be Srikanth’s first ever medal and India’s third medal at the Men’s singles in the BWF World Championships.
